About Us

StitchCraft is designed to be a fun and inspirational place to come learn to sew and craft. We have a fully stocked sewing studio with a variety of sewing machines and sergers, large cutting and worktables, professional dress forms, irons and ironing boards. In addition, we carry a beautiful selection of hip fabrics, patterns, notions and craft supplies. StitchCraft carries everything you need for your classes and offers a 20% discount on supplies for classes here. Be sure to allow time to shop for your supplies before the classes start! Class schedules are posted one month in advance and classes tend to fill up quickly so be sure to sign up early!

In addition to group classes, StitchCraft is open for studio rental and private lessons. So feel free to come in and use our machines and equipment! Be sure to check the schedule for available times and call to reserve a spot.

StitchCraft is owned and operated by Nicole Vasbinder. Nicole has taught thousands of people the joy of sewing over the last decade through her popular sewing, patternmaking and design classes. In addition to classes at StitchCraft, she teaches at Stonemountain and Daughter Fabrics in Berkeley and was a longtime teacher at Stitch Lounge in San Francisco. Nicole has designed the accessory line Queen Puff Puff since 2003 and sells her designs throughout the United States and beyond. Prior to starting her own company, she worked as a designer and merchandiser in the garment industry. She is an alumnus of the Academy of Art University and Otis College of Art & Design and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Craft Stylish, Adorn, and Craft. Her first book, Sewing Solutions – Tips and Techniques for the Savvy Sewists, was published Fall 2012 by Interweave Press and her next book, Sewing Machine Secrets, published in Spring 2013.
